My wooden lady collection started with the big floor lady my mum had from Bali - somehow I aquired it, it has followed on from there

"Spring" Apron Swap Update
Ok so I jonined the apron swap and thought about what type of Apron to sew, then waited until I got my apron recipients name, and details to make it all final.
My initial thoughts for a spring apron were pretty pinks, lots of flowers - maybe a tea party apron design (a little ambitious for my 2nd apron I think) - then I recieved my recipients name and their likes were a little different from my ideas so back to the drawing board, then and onto other projects (my mini swap) as procrastination set in. So I was busy getting invovled in the mini swap and thinking I better recheck postage dates realising I only have 1 week between posts OH NO.
So after several visits and pattern searches, I have found the right pattern for me - reversible so I do not need to hem, pocket, comprehensive step by step directions and some ric rac if desired.
and just the perfect material, it is in the wash, dry iron stage now and then will be ready to cut and sew.
Miranda is now on first name basis ath the biggest ever Spotlight and most of the staff look at me and ask what I am making now! We are frequent visitors. I am prepared with food, and pop Miranda into a trolly and off we go! I am sure to place my hand over the clrealy marked sing that reads "Children are not to ride in Trolleys!" - I could let her walk but then they would find all thier stock on the floors.

Rainy Day Sewing.
Ok I have a confession to make - I did not get out of my Pyjama's today at all!
My children played in the rain and I made my husband shop for and cook dinner -I can not remember the last time he cooked!
So I spent the day in my Pyjamas, sewing for my little mini swap boys - here is a little peak at my very busy day. I will not reveal any more until it is received in March.

Splish! Splash!
When I was a little girl I remember rarely being at home, from the moment we finished breakfast we would be off and out of our flat. We would go exploring the neighbourhood finding new parks to play in -I am still amazed at how many parks we found and how on earth we found our way home - One day we did get lost, finding our way to Bondi Beach but not knowing how to get home - lucky mum had a friend who lived near the beach and had a recognisable house - we found our way there and she called our mum - we didn't even know I phone number - we were between 5 & 8 Yrs old.
Whenever it rained we would be out in the streets in our underwear lying in the gutters with the water swishing over us.
Today my oldest decided she would get the umbrellas and rain coats and stand in the rain - my objection was I was vaccuming, and didn't want any mess in the house - then I remembered my childhood memories and shrugged my shoulders, left Bronte in charge of Miranda and contined with the vaccuming in peace.
They did not get that umbrellas and rain coats are meant to keep them dry.
I hope they are memories they will cherish as ours were.
Ruby Rabbit

last year I made a Ruby Rabbit softie using a pattern designed and shared by One Red Robin I made it for Bronte's school teacher for Christmas because I was told she LOVES Rabbits.
WEll today whilst I was browsing the web I found a special mention to my rabbit here on Jhoanna' Web Site! Thank You Jhoanna for sharng your pattern - it was fun to make and I will be making more in the future.

Another Sewer in the house - I think I will be neding to put bookings on the sewing machine with my girls around.
Here Miranda spends many minutes cutting and measuring, When I ask for my good dressmaking scissors to make a cut she says "NO! My scissors" and continues to cut! Measure and cut, measure and cut.
